Iris Vilette McNeil, 88, of Lexington, died Monday, July 23, 2007 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born September 9, 1918 in Botetourt County, a daughter of the late Forrest O'Connor and Ethel Reynolds O'Connor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Walker McNeil.

Mrs. McNeil was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two sisters: Hazel O. Mays and Ethel (Judy) Newell, both of Lexington; nieces: Bonnie Tyree, Barbara Tyree, Suzanne Entsminger, Patricia Maxwell, and Charlotte Smith; nephews: James Newell and Richard Newell.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery with Rev. Mark Schroeder officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
