She Was A Member Of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church

Louise Ayres McCormick 95, of Lexington, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007.

She was the widow of J. Frank McCormick and the daughter of the late Brady and Cornelia Ayres of Rockbridge County. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by a stepson, Joseph McCormick of Falling Waters, WV and a stepdaughter, Laura Leigh Lederman of Sarasota, FL; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by nephews Fred Arndt of Lexington, Carl Eubank, Jr. of NJ, and Douglas Ayres of NM; nieces, Eleanor Scott of MS, Betty Hartbarger of Lexington, Naomi Harman of GA, Deborah Cardova of TX, Barbara Bennett of NM, and Brady Ayres of Bedford; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.

Mrs. McCormick lived all of her life in Rockbridge County where she was dearly loved. She was employed for many years by J. J. Newberry and was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, c/o Marjorie Murray, 1831 Wesley Chapel Road, Lexington, VA 24450.

A service of death and resurrection will be held at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Carroll and Rev. Dr. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
