Obituary for Roger Arlyn Jarrell Roger Arlyn Jarrell
He Was An Attorney For The U. S. Dept. Of Commerce

Roger Arlyn Jarrell, 69, of Lexington, died Thursday, August 9, 2007.

He was born April 23, 1938 in Portsmouth, OH, a son of the late Elmer Roger and Virginia Mae Risner Jarrell.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Kip A. Strong.

He was an attorney for the U. S. Dept. of Commerce and attended Oxford Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Jarrell is survived by his wife, Nancy Jane Jarrell; two sons, Roger A. Jarrell, II, Charleston, WV, and Jeffrey Scott Jarrell, Coppell, TX; two daughters, Laura J. Mitchell, South Riding, VA and Monica Lynn Jarrell, Denver, CO; two stepsons, Mark P. Strong, Colorado Springs, CO, and Chris Strong, Alexandria, VA; a brother, Patton Jarell, Waterbury, CT and a sister, Constance Peterson, Coos Bay, OR; nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Oxford Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Horace Douty officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Presbyterian Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Association or the American Heart Association.
