Clinton Phillip (Phil) McAlpin, 70, of Natural Bridge, died Thursday, August 23, 2007 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

Mr. McAlpin was born January 27, 1937 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Clinton Armstrong McAlpin and Mary Swink McAlpin.

He was a member of the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are his uncle, Charles Swink of Glasgow; his aunt, Gladys Firebaugh of Richmond and several cousins.

Graveside services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 26, 2007 in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery by Dr. Brian Weger. Memorials may be made to the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church. The family received friends from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
