Obituary for Calvin Earl McDaniel Calvin Earl McDaniel
Retired From Lee's Carpets After 39 Years Of Service

Calvin Earl McDaniel, 80, of Natural Bridge Station, died on Friday, September 7, 2007 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

He was born July 8, 1927 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James Earl McDaniel and Elma Campbell McDaniel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen McDaniel; a daughter, Peggy Sue McDaniel; a sister, Louise McDaniel; and three brothers: Howard, Lawrence, and Jesse McDaniel.

Mr. McDaniel retired from Lee's Carpet after 39 years of service.

Surviving are his two sons: Ronald S. McDaniel of Natural Bridge Station; Calvin Eugene McDaniel and wife, Vickey of Glasgow; four grandchildren: David McDaniel and wife, Kasey; Ginger McDaniel, Chad McDaniel and Robbie Mutispaugh; and one great grandchild, Taylor Pollock-McDaniel; two brothers-in-law: John McDaniel and wife, Patricia of Glasgow; and Horace McDaniel and wife, Anne of Forest.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2007 at the Glasgow Baptist Church with the Rev. William M. Thomas and the Rev. Nathan Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at the Glasgow Cemetery. Special thanks to the Glasgow-Natural Bridge First Aid, First Responders and Fire Departments. Memorial donations may be made to these organizations. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2007 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
