Helen Sheltman Chittum, 77, of Buena Vista, died Thursday, October 4, 2007 in Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born August 29, 1930 in Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Casper Chittum.

Mrs. Chittum is survived by her mother, Ruby Carter; two daughters, Dianna Hunt, Buena Vista and Donna Mull, Williamsburg; two sons, Michael Chittum, Hampton, and Keith Chittum, Buena Vista; three sisters, Edna Chittum, Buena Vista, Joyce Derflinger and Lois Marchi, both of Front Royal; three brothers, Raymond Carter, Jr. and Kenneth Carter, both of Front Royal, and Robert Carter, Winchester; ten grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Dean Staton officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2007 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
