Obituary for Fred William Dudley Fred William Dudley
Worked With Blue Ridge Transfer

Fred William Dudley, age 76, of Lexington, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at his residence.

Born October 24, 1930 in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Otho Herman Dudley and Nellie Lee Dudley.

Mr. Dudley retired from Blue Ridge Transfer and was a member of the Collierstown Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two brothers: Edgar and Wayne; a sister, Edith Clark; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Ayres.

Surviving are his wife, Betty L. Dudley; a son, Fred L. Dudley and wife, Sarah; a daughter, Virginia Lee Dudley-Ayres and husband, Melvin; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, all of Lexington. Also, brothers and sisters that survive are Lee Dudley, Lexington; Wilton Dudley, Natural Bridge; Lucy Marshall, Natural Bridge; Homer C. Dudley, Lexington; Joanne Moore, Lexington; and Jackson Dudley, Lexington.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, October 8, 2007 in the Collierstown Baptist Church with pastor Gary Short officiating. Entombment will take place in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family suggests that contributions be made to the Effinger First Responders, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, VA. 24450. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
