Obituary for Darlene M. Armstrong Darlene M. Armstrong
Worked With Western State Hospital As Psychiatric Aide

Darlene M. Armstrong, 72, of 48 School House Hill Road, Raphine, Virginia, died Sunday, October 14, 2007 in her home.

Born July 18, 1935 in Augusta County, she was the daughter of Harry Morrison and Mary Jane (Jack) Miller.

She was a graduate of North River High School. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Western State Hospital as a psychiatric aide.

She was a member of Lexington Foursquare Church, where she enjoyed fellowship and gave selflessly until her health declined.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a number of siblings.

Surviving are her husband, James Wilson Armstrong; two sons, Michael Wayne Stephenson of Staunton and Anthony Lee Stephenson of Raphine; three step daughters: Linda Armstrong of Verona, Kathy Wade of Verona, and Mary Driver of Stuarts Draft; five step grandchildren; and a special friend, Frances Delaney of Lexington.

The family received friends Tuesday in Bear Funeral Home. A graveside service followed in Union Church Cemetery, Churchville.
