Obituary for Elizabeth Wadsworth Coleman Clemmer Elizabeth Wadsworth Coleman Clemmer
Was Devoted LDS Church Member

Elizabeth Wadsworth Coleman Clemmer, 94, died December 7, 2007 at the Shenandoah Valley Health Carter Facility, Buena Vista, the city where she lived and called home for most of her life.

Born in Rockbridge County on April 27, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Archie Newel Coleman and Ela Anna Mason.

She only resided away from her beloved Rockbridge County for a few years, and then in Salt Lake City, Utah, to be close to the Church of her Heavenly Father, the guiding faith of her loving and generous lifetime. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having been baptized into the church on May 24, 1923.

She is pre-deceased by her husband, Phillip Rufner Clemmer, son Walter Samuel "Pete" Miley, Jr., grandson Kenneth Michael Miley and daughter-in-law Katie Moore Miley.

Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but will be remembered as a woman of strength and unrelenting faith. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was absolute, and extended to their family and friends. Her generosity of spirit and active caring flowed to and through others, many from their early youth and continuing to this day. All that benefitted from knowing her bear witness to her faith in God and humanity, and whether they are close or distant, are saddened and will miss her.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth William Miley of Rutherfordton, NC; one granddaughter and two great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1340 Thornhill Road, Lexington, by Bishop Leon Wilhelm. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.

The Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
