Obituary for Isabel Tolley Berry Isabel Tolley Berry
Retired Nurse Was Lexington High School Graduate

Isabel Tolley Berry, 93, of Lexington, died Sunday, January 6, 2008 at The Mayflower.

She was born October 22, 1914 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Henry Baxter Tolley and Fannie C. Lewis Tolley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. "Fred" Berry.

Mrs Berry was a member of the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, where she was very active and also was a member of the Highland Belle Family and Community Education Club.

She was a graduate of Lexington High School and University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing.

She was a retired Registered Nurse (RN) from Stonewall Jackson Hospital, where she had worked in various phases of nursing throughout her career.

Mrs. Berry was a member of the Stonewall Jackson Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by two daughters: Susan Rutkosk, Chester, VA.; and Connie Saulnier, Leesburg, VA; three grandchildren: Virginia, Samuel, and William Saulnier; a sister, Bessie T. Zollman, Lexington; a brother, Charles P. Tolley, Clifton Forge.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church with Rev. Martin Stokes officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Monmouth Presbyterian Church, 2348 West Midland Trail, Lexington, VA 24450.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
