Obituary for Janice Rae Stevens Janice Rae Stevens
Illinois Native Recently Moved To Lexington

Janice Rae Stevens, previously of Houston, Texas, passed away at her home in Lexington on Tuesday morning, January 8, 2008.

She was born January 13, 1932 to Hazel Irene and Raymond William Hemstreet in Chicago, Illinois.

She recently moved to Lexington, Virginia to be near family.

Janice is survived by her three sons: Thomas Gross and wife, Kathy of Lexington; Robert Gross and wife, Georgeann of Burlington, Wisconsin; and James Gross and wife, Kim of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; a daughter, Linda Swenson and husband, Kurt of Lexington.

She is the beloved grandmother of Tina Bognar, Jennifer Roach, Leah Gross, Amerlia Gross and Lee, Grant and Braden Swenson.

Her cherished great grandchildren are Ellie Bognar and Declan Roach.

She is also survived by her sister, Arelen Mae Aquino of Conroe, Texas, and her nieces and nephew.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Martin Stokes officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, VA. 24450. The family will receive friends after the service at the home of her daughter at 75 Southridge Lane, Lexington, Virginia.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
