James Emmett Blagg, Sr., 96, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, January 13, 2008.

He was born August 8, 1911 in New York, a son of the late Dr. James E. Blagg and Eva Bennett Blagg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Aldrich Blagg.

He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Sonny Ryman, Buena Vista; a son, James E. Blagg, Jr., Atlantic City, NJ; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bart Hellmuth and Rev. Christian Becker officiating.

Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
