Obituary for Ethel Clark Tyree Ethel Clark Tyree
Was Ebenezer United Methodist Church Member

Ethel Clark Tyree, of Maury River Road, Rockbridge Baths, died Monday, January 14, 2008 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born March 4, 1928 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Harvey Lewis Clark and Piney Wilhelm Clark.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, H. Wallace Tyree; a son, Wilmer "Perk" Tyree; and a brother, Ralph "Bucky" Clark.

She was a member of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also a member of the Walkers Creek Home Demonstration Club.

Mrs. Tyree is survived by a daughter, Judy Staton, Rockbridge Baths; seven grandchildren: Tammy Leech, Glasgow; James Wallace Tyree, Arlington; Dianna R. Brice, Pulaski; Chadrick Ruley and Billy Staton, Rockbridge Baths; Sharon Staton, Richmond; and Jessica Staton, Boone, NC; five great grandchildren: Ashley and Amber Camden and Cody Campbell, Glasgow; Victoria and Alexander Brice, Pulaski; eight sisters: Mildred Rowsey, Florence Hostetter, Shirley Bayne, Alice Newcomb and Peggy Ford, all of Lexington; Edith Haynes, Covington; Frances Hostetter and Alma Wines, Glasgow; two brothers: Edward Clark and Lawrence Clark, Clifton Forge

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. William Bearden officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rockbridge Baths Volunteer Fire Department, 5024 Maury River Road, Rockbridge Baths, Va 24473 or the Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 72 McCurdy Lane, Rockbridge Baths, VA 24473. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
