Obituary for Wayne H. "Tiny" Garrett Wayne H. "Tiny" Garrett
Master Pipefitter Lived Most Of His Working Life In Buena Vista

Wayne H. "Tiny" Garrett, 68, of Buena Vista, died on Sunday, January 20, 2008.

By God's amazing grace, he crossed into the portals of heaven.

Born June 25, 1939 in Buena Vista, Virginia, Wayne grew up and lived most of his working life in Buena Vista, Virginia.

He was a master pipefitter and retired from Local Union 10 of Richmond, Virginia.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church.

His hobbies included drawing, painting, and woodworking.

In his younger years, he was both an avid hunter and fisherman.

Despite working the majority of his career away from home, he rarely, if ever, missed any of his children's milestones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Hamilton Garrett and Mary Jane Spence Garrrett and his dear mother-in-law, Ruth Anne Wheeler Floyd, all of Buena Vista.

Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Carol Marie Floyd Garrett of Buena Vista; a daughter, Kimberly Garrett-Branch and husband, Frankie; a son, Kirk Garrett and wife, Brenda; a son, Jeremy Garrett and wife, Robin, all of Lexington; a daughter, Shannon Garrett; a son, Coy "Corky" Garrett and wife, Shannon; a son, Michael Brandon Garrett and wife, Misty, all of Buena Vista; and ten grandchildren. Also surviving are sisters Zeanete Burch, Jane Selleck and a brother, Preston Garrett; a special son-in-law, Steve Tyree; and a daughter-in-law, Paula Garrett.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 23 at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, Buena Vista, with the Reverends J. H. Grow, Larry Floyd and Claude Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
