George Washington Sweet, Jr., 68, of Rockbridge Baths, died Friday, January 25, 2008.

Mr. Sweet was born May 18, 1938 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late George Washington Sweet, Sr. and Carrie Emore Sweet.

He was preceded in death by a son, Scottie Lee Sweet, a sister, Maggie Cash and a grandson, Anthony Sensabaugh.

Surviving are three children: Brenda Diane Sensabaugh, Carolyn Jean Sensabaugh, both of Fairfield; George Edward Sweet of Rockbridge Baths; two stepchildren: Steve Morton Cash of Buena Vista and Sandra Kay Snider of Rockbridge Baths; five brothers: Jim Sweet, Robert Sweet, John Sweet and David Sweet, all of Lexington; Richard Sweet of Buena Vista; three sisters: Virginia Sweet of Buena Vista, Bonnie Harding of Spotsylvania County and Betty Cardwell of Roanoke; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at the Ebenezer United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Bearden officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
