Obituary for Betty Ann Groah Snyder Betty Ann Groah Snyder
Life-Long Marlbrook Church Member Dies At Age 77

Betty Ann Groah Snyder, of 49 Railroad Lane, Vesuvius, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 14, 2008.

She was born December 5, 1932, daughter of the late Ollie Houston and Maggie LaPearl Groah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sistes, Lora and Edith Groah, Bonnie Cash, Helen Mizer, and Shirley Waymack, whom Betty loved and knew as her mother; six brothers: Dalton S., Oliver Camden, Norwood M., Howard W., Albert L. and Paul V. Groah.

Betty was a much-loved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Prior to retirement, Betty had been employed with Parker Bows.

She was a life-long member of the Marlbrook Baptist church.

She loved the church family and serving the Lord.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years; two daughters: Debra LaPearl Whitten and husband, Donnie, Fairfield; Dana Ann Eavers and husband, Joseph, Stuarts Draft; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Swatts, Staunton; two brothers: Francis "Cotton" Groah, Vesuvius and Floyd Groah, Raphine; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Marlbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Newman, Rev. Luther Witt, and Rev. Dan Stanley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Steeles Tavern.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Waymack, hall Waymack, Danny Groah, Terry Groah, Jeremy Groah, and Bobby Seaman. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the AMC Hope Center, P. O. Box 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
