Obituary for Marie Marshall Davidson Marie Marshall Davidson
Worked U.S. State Department In Foreign Aid Field

Marie Marshall Davidson, 89, of Thomas Circle, Washington, D.C., died Monday, February 11, 2008.

Ms. Davidson was born on February 14, 1918 at 109 Meyers Street in Lexington, Virginia. She lived there through high school and went on to Converse College in Spartanburg, South Carolina where she graduated.

Marie worked for the United States State Department in the Foreign Aid Field and lived in many parts of the world including Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iran, Columbia, and Africa.

Ms. Davidson was the daughter of James McClintic and Katharine Hoge Davidson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded to death by her sisters, Katharine Hoge Davidson and Betty D. Darden, and her brothers, James McClintic Davidson, Jr. and John Armitage Davidson. There was one other son who died in infancy.

Ms. Davidson is survived by three nieces, Katherine D. Beale of Norfolk, Virginia, Elizabeth A. Darden of Jacksonville, Florida and Ann D. Gibbs, of Jacksonville, Florida; and two nephews, Richard D. Darden III of Anchorage, Alaska, and John R. Darden of Boykins, Virginia and many great nieces and great nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery by Dr. Kline on Tuesday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m.
