Charles Lewis Moore, Sr., 72, of Lexington, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008.

He was born May 1, 1936, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Henry Addison Moore and Glendon Long Moore.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Florence McGee Moore.

Mr. Moore is survived by his children, Charles Lewis Moore, Jr., Blue Ridge, Terri Moore Haynes, Kathy Moore Wallace, James Moore, Roanoke, Nina Moore Goad, Vinton, and Ashley Caitlin McGee Moore, Lexington; stepchildren: Brownie McGee, Charlie McGee, Leonard McGee, Susan Ward, Bruce McGee, Beth Hartbarger, and April Mikels; brothers and sisters: Louise Painter, Henry Moore, Jr., Buena Vista, Pat Coffey, Roanoke, Robert Moore, Martinsville, Stephen Moore, Staunton, and Douglas Moore, Greenville; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Butch Grow officiating. Burial followed in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made to Grace Chapel, 3595 Catalpa Ave., Buena Vista, Va. 24416. The family received friends Thursday, February 21, 2008 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
