Elizabeth (Betty Jo) Shepherd Slayton, 69, of Natural Bridge Station, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008.

She was born January 11, 1939 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of Evelyn Birch Shepherd and the late James Harlan Shepherd.

She was a member of the Glasgow Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, Mrs. Slayton is survived by three children: Shelby S. Reneski, St. Louis, MO; Bryan (Ted) Slayton, Glasgow; and Teresa S. Steele, Ramstein, Germany seven grandchildren; a twin sister, Margaret S. Alford; sister, Linda S. Black; and a brother, Wesley H. Shepherd.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2008 in the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. William Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Falling Spring Presbyterian Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
