Obituary for Paul Edward Rhodenizer Paul Edward Rhodenizer
County Native Was Retired From VMI, Goodwill Industries

Paul Edward Rhodenizer, 71, of Lexington, died Saturday, March 1, 2008 in Charlottesville.

Mr. Rhodenizer was born in Rockbridge County on July 5, 1936, a son of the late Gilmore Hutton and Florence Robinson Rhodenizer.

He was retired from the heating plant at VMI and also had worked for several years at Goodwill Industries.

Mr. Rhodenizer was a member of the Collierstown United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Edith K. Rhodenizer, survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Delores Rhodenizer of Salem; Paula Zollman and her husband, Chris; Wanda Scott and her husband, Jonathan, all of Lexington; two brothers: Carl Rhodenizer of Georgia and Reese Rhodenizer of Staunton; a sister, Mary Ruley of Glasgow; six grandchildren: Cavett Potter, Paul Potter, Joshua Hall, Katrina Flowers, Stephanie Hall and Cara Scott; one great grandson, Zachary Potter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Griffin and Butch Rhodenizer officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

It is suggested that those desiring to make memorial contributions may do so to the Effinger Fire Depatment, 2824 Collierstown Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450 or to the Collierstown United Methodist Church, 3998 Collierstown Road, Lexington, Virginia 24450.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington.
