Homemaker Was Cave Mountain Lake Church Of God Member

Florence Powell Parks, 74, of Natural Bridge Station, died Monday, March 3, 2008 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 29, 1933 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Horace E. and Tookie A. Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Norman E. Powell and Albert S. Parks; three brothers: Horace, Russell and Lacey Johnson; and a sister, Sally W. Hall.

Mrs. Parks was a homemaker and was a member of the Cave Mountain Lake Church of God.

She is survived by two daughters: Norma Austin and Nancy Powell; a son, Albert Powell, all of Natural Bridge Station; a sister, Nita Thomas, Natural Bridge Station; two sisters-in-law: Edna Johnson and Dorothy Rose, Natural Bridge Station; four grandchildren: David Austin, Jennifer LaRue, Rita Powell and Kevin Powell, all of Natural Bridge Station; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She will be missed by all.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2008 at the Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Terry Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Glasgow Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
