Betty Mae Tomlin, 63, of Buena Vista, went to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

A lifelong resident of Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey Davis and Elsie Roberts Camden.

Betty loved her animals, home and family, and is survived by her three children; four grandchildren; and a number of family and friends.

She is best remembered for her kindness to animals and will be greatly missed by the cats and dogs she cared for over the years, including her beloved pets Layla, Princess, Pookie, Missy, Clover and Wee Wee.

The family will hold a memorial service at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.

Betty would have wanted her family and friends to remember her best with a donation to help animals at a local S.P.C.A. or animal rescue shelter.
