Nellie Bradner Widdifield, 100, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at the Golden Living Center.

She was born May 12, 1907 in Pittsylvania County, Vvirginia, a daughter of the late Howard and Cora McCrickard Bradner.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Herbert Widdifield and one grandchild.

Surviving are three sons: Herbert Percy Widdifield, Jr. and wife, Avis; Charles W. Widdifield and wife, Nadine, all of Lexington; and John H. Widdifield and wife, Katherine, Raleigh, NC; three daughters: Cora Lee Ogden, Buena Vista; Nyoke W. Mays and husband, Ronald; and Martha W. Fitzgerald and husband, Wayne, all of Lexington; 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice or the Activity Fund at the Golden Living Center, Buena Vista.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
