Daniel Keith Ayres, 54, of Buena Vista, died Monday, April 14, 2008 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 27, 1954 in Lexington, a son of the late Harry Douglas and Cynthia (Effie) Ramsey Ayres.

He was employed by the city of Buena Vista and was a member of the Buena Vista Rescue Squad for ten years.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa A. Ayres; five children: Barrett McFaddin and friend, Emily Anderson, Glasgow; Danielle Ayres and fiance, Travis Southers, Lexington; Denise Ayres, Bryon Smith, both of Buena Vista; and Natasha Smith and friend, Scott Knick, Glasgow; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Douglas Ayres and wife, Mary, Carthapin, VA; Wanda Bryant, Roanoke Rapids, NC; Ronnie Ayres and wife, Judanda, Selah, WA; Dawn Burch and husband, Larry and Norma Staton and husband, Houston, Buena Vista; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Butch Grow officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
