Vinton Lee Muterspaw, 84, of Staunton, died Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Augusta Medical Center.

He was born June 6, 1923 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Robert S. and Verlie Muterspaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Naomi Carter, Frances Mason and Jane McCray.

Mr. Muterspaw is survived by a daughter, Shirley M. Cote and husband, Timothy, Sr., Staunton; a sister, Lillie Goodwin, Natural Bridge; two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
