County Native Was Self-Employed Home Cleaner

Janet Lora Camper Moore Knick, 78, of Lexington, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at the home of her son, Michael Moore of Fairfield.

Mrs. Knick was born in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the lat eRussell and Jessie (McCormick) Camper.

Janet was a self-employed house cleaner and a housewife. She enjoyed going to yard sales and working with the cattle on her farm.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Knick was preceded in death by her first husband, James R. Moore; her second husband, Paul E. Knick; and a grandson, Shanen E. Moore.

Mrs. Knick is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Jim 'Butch' Moore III and his wife, Norma, of High Point, North Carolina; and Michael 'Mike' Moore and his wife, Susan, of Fairfield; one brother, James Kenneth 'Jimmy' Camper, of Fairfield; three grandchildren: Douglas and David Moore and Leslie Roberts; two great grandchildren: Lindsey and Christy Roberts; and two step great grandchildren, Ryan and Dakota.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by the Rev. James B. Grimmer. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Harrison Funeral Home. It is suggested that those desiring make may memorial contributions to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, Va. 24450, the Carilion Home Care Service, 1 Health Circle, Lexington, Va 24450 or the Fairfield First Aid, 5885 North Lee Highway, Fairfield, Va 24435.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
