Willie Mae Taylor Southers, 93, of Buena Vista, died Friday, June 13, 2008 in the Augusta Medical Center.
She was born August 28, 1914 in Amherst County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Judy Taylor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge Southers.
Surviving are her children: Edna J. Sorrells, Staunton; William T. Southers, Harrisonburg; Roger Southers, Glasgow; Elvie Flowers and Randy Southers, Buena Vista; and Edward L. Southers, Lexington; 37 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 16, 2008 at the First Brethren Church, Buena Vista, with pastor Christian Becker and Lester Kennedy officiating. Burial follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
