Sheet Metal Worker Was Army Veteran, Restaurant Owner

David Herman (Bubbie) Clark, 63, of Buena Vista, died Monday, June 16, 2008.

He was born October 26, 1944 in Waynesboro, a son of the late Lee Grover Clark and Edith Dudley Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard Leech Clark.

David was a sheet metal worker by trade.

He served in the U.S. Army and was the former owner/operator of Troutville Side Tract Rest and Buchanan Side Tracks Restaurant.

He is survived by a longtime companion, Teresa Gaye Carter; two sons: David Eugene Clark, Fayetteville, NC and Bernard Lee Clark and wife, Diane, Disputana, VA; one daughter, Tammy Abernathy and husband, George, Petersburg, VA; grandchildren: Heather Clark, Eric and Timothy Abernathy; a sister, Ellen Cooper and husband, Kenny, Lexington; two brothers: Grover Lee Clark and wife, Cindy, Buena Vista, and John Allen Clark, Natural Bridge; nine nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rick Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, Effinger Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
