Emerson (Ray) Matheny, 39, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, June 18, 2008.

He was born January 11, 1969 in Clifton Forge, a son of Garland L. Matheny, Sr. and Myrtle Black Matheny.

He was employed in the maintenance department of the Buena Vista School System.

Surviving are his fiance, Wanda Parker; a daughter, Christi Matheny, Hot Springs; his devoted ex-wife, Lisa Matheny; three brothers: Harold Matheny of Alabama; Don Matheny, Hampton; Benny Matheny, Millboro; a sister, Janet McCarty, Owensboro, KY.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, Virginia.
