Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" Abbey Cline Elizabeth "Betty" Abbey Cline
Emigrated From Canada In 1916

Elizabeth "Betty" Abbey Cline, died on June 23, 2008 at the Mayflower assisted living facility in Lexington, Virginia.

Formerly of Fredericksburg, Virginia, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Bernard W. Cline, in 1978.

He was a local custom home builder.

Betty was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on December 5, 1914.

She emigrated from Canada with her parents to Fredericksburg in 1916.

She was the daughter of the late Constantine Athanasius (C.A.) Abbey and Constance Bance Abbey.

Her father was general manager and later owner of both the Princess Anne and Maury Hotels in Fredericksburg.

Betty was a graduate of Mary Washington College and a lifelong member of St. George's Episcopal Church.

For the past eight years, Betty has been a resident of the Mayflower assisted living facility in Lexington, Virginia.

Survivors include her four children: Elizabeth C. Williamson of Lexington, Virginia; Constance C. Bukzin of Woodbridge, Virginia; Frances C. Campbell of Nags Head, NC; and Bernard W. Cline, Jr. of Falmouth, Virginia; eight grandchildren and a great grandson.

The funeral will be private. interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg.

Arrangements are being handled by the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service in Buena Vista, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to a charity of your choice.
