Obituary for Teresa Justice Floyd Eva Rexrode Quist
She Managed The Thrift Shop For Many Years

Eva Rexrode Quist, 81, of Lexington, died Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

She was born August 19, 1926, in Monterey, a daughter of the late Ira and Maggie Rexrode.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Rexrode.

Eva worked for the War Department in Washington, D.C., during World War II and was an assistant librarian at the Staunton Library in the 1950's. She was worthy matron and grand representative in the Eastern Star and a past president of the Stonewall Jackson Hospital Auxiliary, where she also managed the Thrift Shop for many years.

Surviving are her husband, John Alfred Quist; a daughter, Kathryn Berry and husband, Robert, of Rockbridge Baths; a son, James C. Quist and wife, Susan, of Lexington; brothers and sister, Samuel Rexrode, of Monterey, Robert Rexrode, of Lexington, Dale Rexrode, of Waynesboro, Douglas Rexrode, of Staunton, Louise Rexrode, of Monterey, and Elbert Rexrode, of Waynesboro; and three grandchildren, Craig Whiteside, Michelle Berry and Kelly Berry.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, 2008, at Monterey Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008, at St. Paul's Anglican Church. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rockbridge Area Hospice, P.O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450 or St. Paul's Anglican Church, Nelson and Davidson Streets, Lexington, VA 24450.
