Cecil (Ray) McKemy, 83, of Lexington, died Thursday, July 3, 2008 at his home.

He was born July 29, 1924 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Harry and Naomi McCullough McKemy.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy McCullough McKemy.

Surviving are his wife, Mary E. McKemy of Lexington; four daughters: Jeannie Brrads and husband, Jessie; Linda Hall and husband, Charmer; Mary Brads and husband, Billy, all of Lexington; and Patricia Rhodenizer and husband, Steve, of Buena Vista; two sons: Larry Ray McKemy of Raphine and John David McKemy of Lexington; a stepdaughter, Lisa Wiggs and husband, Richard of Sterling, VA; a sister, Iona Price of Clifton Forge; also surviving are ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and two stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at the Lexington Baptist Church with Pastor Michael Wilburn officiating with burial to follow at the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home and Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, VA 24450.
