Obituary for Oakley Crank Adams Oakley Crank Adams
Natural Bridge Hotel Employee For 37 Years

Oakley Crank Adams, 77, of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 31, 2008 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born October 5, 1930 in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Ollie Crank and Augusta Dowdy Crank.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Lewis Adams, Sr.

Mrs. Adams was a member of Glasgow Baptist Church and had been employed by Natural Bridge Hotel for 37 years.

Surviving are three children, John Lewis Adams, Jr., of Natural Bridge Station, James Scott Adams, of Glasgow, and Lynn Adams Johnson, of Lexington; two brothers, Henry M. Crank, of Shipman and Ollie Crank, Jr., of PA; two sisters, Louise Ireland, of Springfield and Lorraine Fender, of Roanoke; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 4, 2008 at Glasgow Baptist Church, with Rev. Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Glasgow First Aid, Glasgow Fire Dept., or Rockbridge Area Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, VA.
