Obituary for Catherine Carleton Coleman Catherine Carleton Coleman
Data Systems Analyst Was Accomplished Equestrian Competitor

Catherine Carleton Coleman, 45, of Fairfield, died Friday, August 22, 2008 of a heart attack at her home in Buchanan, Virginia.

She was a daughter of Elizabeth Dalian and Thomas R. Donkin.

She was born in Huntington, New York.

Mrs. Coleman was a data systems analysis manager and had been employed by the Asia Pacific Banking Center and Norcal Waste Management in San Francisco, California.

In Troy, Michigan, she was employed by Kmart World Headquarters and in Roanoke, Virginia, by Advance Auto Parts Central Headquarters and Parts Depot, Inc. A specialist in System i5 520s, Ms. Coleman was involved in PHP/RPG interfacing and programming.

In San Francisco, Ms. Coleman graduated from Drew Academy a Lycee Francais, accredited by the French Ministry of Education, where she received an American High School diploma and the Franch Baccalaureate and attended the City College of San Francisco.

A lifelong equestrian, Ms. Coleman was an accomplished competitor of sport horses. She trained with Terry Whitmore of Stone Tavern Farm, Natural Bridge, Virginia.

Catherine is grieved by her sister and brother, Thomas C. Donkin and Sarah S. Toney; a niece, Jasmine Toney; nephews: Joshua, Ryan and Seth Donkin; her loving Donkin, Dalian and Harris relatives and a vast community of friends from the computers and horse worlds.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2008 at the High Bridge Presbyterian Church, Natural Bridge.

Arrangements are being handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
