Obituary for Hanie Montgomery Hostetter Hanie Montgomery Hostetter
County Native Dies At Age 90

Hanie Montgomery Hostetter, 90, of Lexington, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital.

She was born February 6, 1918 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Richard Mason Montgomery and Martha Lee Moore Montgomery.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Benjamin Hostetter; a daughter, Hope Virginia Rion; a grandson, Nolan Lewis; and a son-in-law, Ernest Jackson.

Mrs. Hostetter was the last survivor of thirteen children.

Surviving are three children: Hector Hostetter and wife, Joyce of Lexington; Faith "Poodle" Petty and husband, James of Goshen; and Rena Lawson of Lexington; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; special friends: Hallie Chittum, Fay Montgomery and Stacey Rexrode.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at the Kerrs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Claude Williams officiating.

Arrangements were handled by the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
