Lewis Wilson McCormick, 94, of Buena Vista, died Sunday, September 21, 2008 in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center.

He was born Aril 15, 1914 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late James A. McCormick and Rubye Amole McCormick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Henson McCormick and a daughter, Martha Lou Shafer.

Mr. McCormick was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren, was a Buena Vista Lions Charter member, and was a life member of the Buena Vista Rescue Squad.

Surviving are a son-in-law, Ron Shafer, Waynesboro; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2008 at the Stone Church of the Brethren with Rev. Russ Barb and Rev. W. David Bain officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Stone Church of the Brethren, Buena Vista Rescue Squad or the Lions Club.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the church.
