June Forrest Edmonds Manuel, 87, of Buena Vista, died Friday, October 10, 2008 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born January 1, 1921 in Austinville, Virginia, a daughter of the late John Floyd Edmonds and Ruby Gibson Edmonds.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Manuel Sr. and a daughter, Janet Manuel Woodson.

Surviving her are 10 children: Vickie Manuel Nelson of Mumford, TN; Charles Manuel Jr. and wife, Melissa of Winter Haven, FL; Brenda Manuel Clark of Buena Vista; Roger Manuel and wife, Becky of Fries, VA; Bob Manuel and wife, Peggy of Pinehurst, NC; Larry Manuel and wife, Sandra of Buena Vista; Sue Tomlin and husband, Lonnie of Amherst, Va; Steve Manuel and wife, Florrie of Lafayette, IN; Teresa Manuel Schechterly of Buchanan; and Darrell Manuel and wife, Terry of Lexington; 24 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; a sister, Patsy E. Lovell of Galax, Va; a brother, Sidney Edmonds of Hillsville; and son-in-law, Charlie Woodson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 in Buena Vista Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Rev. W. A. Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The famil will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
