Harry Lee Dent, 81, of Raphine, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008.

Born April 27, 1927 in DePew, Oklahoma, he was the son of the late Dr. Harry Lee Dent and Viola Passler Dent.

Harry served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marie Dent of Raphine; his children: Mary Crumholt and husband Curt, of Garfield, NJ; James Dent and wife, Lori, of Oakland, NJ; and Walter Dent and wife, Tammy, of Harrisonburg, VA; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at the Old Providence Presbyterian Cemetery officiated by the Rev. James B. Grimmer.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions may be made to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Roanoke, VA, 24018. Friendsgathered with the family from 5-6 p.m. on Monday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
