Obituary for Hazel Lawhorn Palmer Hazel Lawhorn Palmer
Member of Victory Baptist Church

Hazel Lawhorn Palmer, 77, of Buena Vista, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 22, 2008.

She was born September 5, 1931 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Grover C. and Elsie S. Lawhorn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred I. Palmer and son, Scotty Harrison.

She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and of the VFW Auxiliary 1499 in Lexington.

Surviving are a son, Robert M. Harrison and wife, Margaret Leigh, of Lexington; four stepchildren, Fred Palmer, Jr. and wife, Nanette, of Burlington, VT, Dana M. Palmer and wife, April, of San Francisco, CA, Sandra P. Lockhart, of Hopewell, VA and Sharon Lindley and husband, Terry, of Bahama, NC; three grandchildren, Nathan M. Harrison, of Charlottesville, Robbie Harrison and Gabrielle Harrison, of Lexington; seven stepgrandchildren; two sisters, Gertrude Campbell, of Lynchburg and Marjorie Byers of Buena Vista; two brothers, Eugene Lawhorn, of Lexington and Gomer Lawhorn and wife, Rachel, of Buena Vista; and a special and dear friend, Vera Carter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2008 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel, with Pastors Dean Staton and Rick Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Buena Vista, VA.
