James Laddy "Sam" Martin, 60, of Goshen, died October 25, 2008.

He was born November 24, 1947 in Lexington, a son of the late Henry Loven Martin and Bonnie Anna Hostetter Martin.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Beatrice Martin; children: Pennie Knick of Lexington; Timmy Martin of Lynchburg; Bonnie Brown of Rockbridge Baths; and Jamie Martin of Goshen; brothers and sisters: Hassie Barry, Zeldia Bayne, Patsy Sammels, Susie Bayne, Joyce Martin, Gloria Siley, Peggy Vest, Sally Smiley, Sharon Pierson and Roy Martin, all of Lexington; six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the residence, 8 Blacks Run, Goshen.
