Hilton T. Greene Jr, 56, of Roanoke VA, departed from this life early Sunday, November 9, 2008.

Born August 23, 1952 in Lexington VA, Hilton was the son of Dora H. Painter of Buena Vista and the late Hilton T. Greene Sr. of Lexington.

"H", as he was affectionately referred to by friends, was a 1970 graduate of Parry McCluer High School in Buena Vista, VA.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carla C. Greene; and a daughter, Lauren Elise Greene, both of Roanoke.

Hilton leaves behind to cherish his memory two brothers: Richard E. Painter and wife, April, of Hampton VA; and Darrell B. Painter and wife, LouAnne, of Lexington VA; and two sisters: Danita P. Whitehead and husband, Thomas (Teach), of Lowesville VA; and Vivian (Kay) P. Fix and fiancee, Stacey Wade, of Pleasant View, VA; and his honorary brothers and lifelong friends, John Hamilton and wife, Connie, of Moneta VA, and Joey Huffman of Buena Vista, VA; and numerous nieces nephews and friends.

Hilton was a free spirited soul, a loving son, husband, father and brother, who will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of making his acquaintance.

A private memorial service will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2008.
