Obituary for Margaret Byrne Withrow Margaret Byrne Withrow
Was Bookkeeper For Cabell Coal Company

Margaret Byrne "Maggie" Withrow, age 90, of Brian Center Nursing Home, Low Moor and a former resident of Low Moor, died Sunday, November 9, 2008 at Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor.

Born January 25, 1918 in Clifton Forge, Virginia she was a daughter of the late John T. Byrne, Jr. and Marie Riley Byrne.

She was a bookkeeper for Cabell Coal Company and a housekeeper throughout her life. She was a member of St. JosephÕs Catholic Church where she was also in the Ladies Sodality group. She was a former member of the Business and Professional WomenÕs Club of Covington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Withrow, Sr. in 1986 and a brother, John T. Byrne, Jr. She is survived by four sons: William E. Withrow, Jr. of Covington, James L. Withrow of Covington, John B. Withrow of Roanoke, and Carl W. Withrow of Clifton Forge; a brother, James J. Byrne of Newark, DE; four grandchildren: Andrea R. Withrow, Jessica N. McKinney and husband Jerry, William R. Withrow, and Morgan D. Withrow; a great grandson, Damian Jordan Withrow, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Wednesday morning at 11:00 AM in the St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Clifton Forge with Reverend Louis Benoit officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Low Moor. Pallbearers will be Morgan Withrow, Robert Withrow, Robert Gardiner, Jackie Stone, Jim Rhodes, and Bill Withrow.

There will be a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 PM Tuesday evening at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge and the family will receive friends following the wake service until 8:00 PM at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 620 Jefferson Avenue, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.
