Mildred Margaret Nickels Wood, 94, of Lexington, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Kendal.

She was born May 29, 1914 in Phoenix, Arizona, a daughter of the late Denis W. and Edith Florence Tanton Nickels.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Arlo Wood.

Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane Mayerchak and husband, Pat, of Lexington; two grandchildren: Martin Y. Mayerchak of Washington, DC and Suzanne E. Mayerchak Duncan of Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at the R. E. Lee Episcopal Church with Rev. Tom Crittenden officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
