Burlington Industries 'Fixer' Was County Native

Frank Lee Wilford Bayne, 75, of Lexington, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 in Heritage Hall.

He was born October 22, 1933 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late John Henry Bayne and Mary Horn Bayne.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Phillips.

Mr. Bayne was a fixer at Burlington Industries.

He attended Lexington High School where he played football.

He was a member of the National Guard of Lexington and served two years in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife, Shirley Bane; a brother, William "Shake" Bayne and wife, Jane of Lexington; a nephew, Sidney Hall and wife, Shirley of Cantonment, FL; an uncle, Ricie Horn and wife, Millie of Raphine; special cousins: Michael McManama of Vienna and Vicki Beal of Norfolk; other nieces, nephews and cousins, and all of his coon and bear hunting buddies that he considered family.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Giles officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
