Lessie Drummond Smith, 80, of Covington, died Friday, November 21, 2008.

Mrs. Smith was born February 7, 1928 in Monroe County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Roy Raymond Drummond and Pearl Dudding Drummond.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Marla Smith Whiteside and Mrs. Karen Drummond Villiarni, both of Roanoke County; three sons: Henry Steven Smith of Roanoke, Joey Allen Smith of Botetourt County and Jeffrey Drummond Smith of Florida; six sisters; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2008 from the chapel of the Loving Funeral home.

The family will receive friends following the service at the Loving Funeral Home, Covington.

The family suggests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice, P. O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
