Elizabeth Kraft Switzer, 86, of Lexington, formerly of Oceanside, Long Island, NY, died Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Webster Center, Kendal.

She was born April 12, 1922 in Glendale, Long Island, NY, a daughter of the late Peter and Adelaide Guertin Kraft.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew F. Switzer and a sister, Doris Emilio.

Mrs. Switzer was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Surviving are her children: Susan Pierce of Lebanon, PA; Barbara DeWaard of Dwight, IL; Linda Hofman of Dumont, NJ; Janet Travers of Mission Viejo, CA; John Switzer and Gerard Switzer of Rockbridge Baths; a brother, Richard Kraft of Florida; two sisters: Rita Duffy and Joan Finn, both of Lexington; 16 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2008 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father Joseph D'Aurora officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, Long Island, NY.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, Va. 24450.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2008 with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
