Margaret Jane Bell Lutz Piercy, 91, of 1236 Grace Avenue, Clifton Forge died Saturday, November 22, 2008 in Alleghany Regional Hospital, Low Moor.

She was born in Peru, Indiana on October 11, 1917 a daughter of the late John B. And Mayme Derringer Bell.

She was a retired ward clerk at the former C & O Hospital in Clifton Forge, and was a previous owner/ operator of Webers Florist and Alleghany Floral.

She was a very active member of the Central United Methodist Church where she served in the Wesleyan Fellowship, Administrative Board, Co-Director of the pupper ministry, and the Men's Chorus pianist.

Margaret had played the piano for numerous organizations and church throughout her life. She was a member of the Martha Chapter # 21, Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by husbands Charles William Lutz in 1971 and by Harley Everette Piercy in 1997.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and John Boone of Clifton Forge and Kristi and Michael Perkins of Louisburg, North Carolina; two sons and daughter-in-law, William Charles "Billy" Lutz and by James Robert "Jim" and Ilse Lutz of Celina, Tennessee; a brother, Robert Jackson "Bob" Bell of Anderson, Indiana; 6 grandchildren: Theresa Snead and husband Doug, Jefferey Robert Conner and wife Neely, Robyn Zinszer and husband Chris, Lori Everett, Amy Tharrington and husband, Matthew, and Ashley Revels and husband, Joe; 8 great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Burkholder, Rev Lee Dotson and Rev. W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment will follow in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor.

Active pallbearers will be, Charlie Gibson, Lee Dunn, John Mandeville, Doug Claytor, Frank Tyree and Elwood Mays. Honorary pallbearers will be John Myles, Ed Dean, J.D. Williams and Ronnie Dowd. A funeral service by the Martha Chapter # 21 Order of the Eastern Star will be conducted Monday evening at 6:00 p.m.. at Nicely Funeral Home, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of 1236 Grace Avenue. The family suggest memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Central United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 16, Clifton Forge, Va. 24422 or to the Alleghany Humane Society, 304 Karnes Road, Low Moor, Va. 24457.
