Obituary for Irene Ethel Seaman Cash Irene Ethel Seaman Cash
She Was An Active Member of Vesuvius Baptist Church

Irene Ethel Seaman Cash, of Vesuvius, departed this life on December 2, 2008 at her home, 855 Tye River Turnpike, Vesuvius.

The last surviving member of her family, born on June 8, in Montebello, VA, to Willie Gilmore and Florence Ramsey Seaman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Willie, Alton, Julian, and Loving Seaman; one sister, Marie; and one special nephew, Charlie Seaman. She will be reunited with them as well as her husband of 57 years, Clarence T. Cash, Sr., who preceded her in death on January 18, 2007.

She is survived by one son, Clarence T. (C.T.) Cash, Jr. and his wife, Kitty; one grandson, Clarence T. (Tre) Cash III and his wife, Danielle; and one great-granddaughter, Alexis Renee' Cash, all of Vesuvius; several special nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Robert L. Kemp and Joyce Allen.

Mrs. Cash was a homemaker and affiliated in the family-owned business in Vesuvius for more than 50 years until her illness in September. She was an active member of the Vesuvius Baptist Church, the Vesuvius Community Association, Women's Auxiliary of the Steeles Tavern Chapter of the V.F.W., and a founding active member of the Vesuvius Secret Pal Group.

A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Dan Stanley, assisted by the Rev. Billy Coffey, at the Vesuvius Baptist Church on Saturday, December 6 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Harrison Funeral Home, in Lexington, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, and at other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, P.O. Box 156, Montebello, VA 24464 for construction of a children's play area.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Cash's many friends, family and neighbors, as well as, the staff at AMC and Augusta Nursing and Rehab for their many visits, calls, care and prayers during her brief illness.
