Obituary for George Jeffress Watts George Jeffress Watts
Worked With Burlington For 34 Years

George Jeffress Watts, 74, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, December 24, 2008 from his residence in Glasgow, Virginia.

He was born on September 1, 1934 in Rockbridge County, the only child of the late George F. and Onie (Emore) Watts.

He was an employee of Burlington Industries, now Mohawk, for 34 years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty Heslep Watts; six children: David S. Watts (Theresa) of Lexington; Crystal W. Grishaw (William) of Pleasant View; Alan R. (Randy) Watts (Karen) of Buena Vista; Benjamin M. Watts (Kathy) of Tunnel Hill, Ga; Becky W. White (Wendell) of Piney River; and Bonny W. Reynolds (Lee) of Glasgow; 10 grandchildren: Anne Camden, Jessica Watts, Amanda Reynolds, Davy Austin, Joshua Grishaw, Adama Watts, Betty Jo Pettijohn, Miles Watts, Brian Watts, and Alan Watts; seven great grandchildren; and a very special canine friend, April Pudding.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Thomas, Pastor Randy Watts and Pastor Adam Watts officiating. Burial will follow in the Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 27, 2008 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Virginia.
