Obituary for Charles Kevin Aldridge Charles Kevin Aldridge

Charles Kevin Aldridge, 42, of 1022 Ingalls Street, Clifton Forge, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on Friday, December 26, 2008.

His wife was by his side.

Kevin was born March 8, 1966 in Alleghany County, Virginia, a son of the late Charles R. Aldridge, who preceded him in death in May of 2008, and Joyce Nicely Aldridge of Iron Gate.

He was a member and deacon of the Iron Gate Baptist Church, and was an employee of Gala Industries, Engineering Designs Department in Eagle Rock.

For most of Kevin's adult life, he fought musculoaponeurotic fibromatosis, which resulted in complications over the years. In 2006 he was diagnosed with melanoma and then again in 2008.

Kevin loved life, family and friends. Most of all his faith and love for our Lord got him through his trials to the very end.

In addition to his mother, Joyce "Peachie" Nicely Aldridge of Iron Gate, he is survived by his wife and best friend, Tammy Lockhart Aldridge of Clifton Forge; a son, Jonathon Matthew Aldridge; two daughters: Allison Morgan Aldridge and Amanda Leigh Pauley, all of Clifton Forge; a sister, Kim Fix and her husband, Todd of Covington; special aunt, Mary "BB" Anderson of Clifton Forge; he is also survived by a host of loving friends and family members.

A funeral service was conducted on Monday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. from the Iron Gate Baptist Church with Rev. Hunter Hale officiating. Interment followed in Alleghany Memorial Park. Active pallbearers were: Jonathan Aldridge, Grey Smith, Chris Wiley, Scott Hensley, Ricky Swoope, Tommy Persinger, Mark Breckenridge, Scott Craft, Tony Cahoon, Travis Simpson, Chazy Nicely, Wesley Wolfe, Bobby Humphreys, Raymond Humphreys, co-workers at Gala Industries and the Deacons of Iron Gate Baptist Church.

The family received friends Sunday evening 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Iron Gate Baptist Church, Building Fund ,for new construction or to the Volunteer Fund of Mountain Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 637, Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422.
